Currently on view: Portraits & Expressions

Portraits & Expressions brings together a dynamic group of award‑winning Northeast Ohio artists whose practices reinterpret the human experience through gesture, imagination, and the intimate act of looking. This exhibition pairs realism with abstraction, narrative with symbolism, and observation with memory—revealing the many ways artists shape identity on canvas and paper.

Featuring work by Anthony Ford, Thomas Hudson, Amber Kempthorn, Alyssa Lizzini, Frank Oriti, Corrie Slawson, and Lauren Yeager, the show highlights artists celebrated for their distinct voices and recognized through major regional honors, including Assembly for the Arts’ Creative Impact Fund and the Cleveland Arts Prize.

Together, their works form a vibrant tapestry of contemporary portraiture—sometimes literal, sometimes metaphorical, always deeply human. Portraits & Expressions invites viewers to consider how we reveal ourselves, how we interpret others, and how artists translate the complexities of lived experience into compelling visual form. On view through January 2027.

"It was terrific to be recognized for teaching as well as explorations in glass art. I was encouraged feeling that I was on a good path. Perhaps it gave my students confidence in me that I received the award."   ~ Brent Kee Young (Visual Artist)
