Cleveland Public Theatre and The Cleveland Arts Prize present

A Special Benefit Performance of

Sleep Deprivation Chamber

Cleveland Public Theatre Executive Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan is proud to present Sleep Deprivation Chamber by Adrienne and Adam Kennedy, running in the Gordon Square Theatre January 12 – January 27, 2007. 

Join Cleveland Public Theatre, Creative Writing Workshop Projects and the Cleveland Arts Prize for a special benefit performance on Sunday, January 21st at 3:00pm.  All proceeds from ticket sales and donations will benefit a Literature Award to be presented to a Cleveland Municipal School District student in Adrienne Kennedy’s name. Tickets to this special event are $18 general admission or $15 for students and seniors and include a matinee performance followed by a reception at the theatre.  Additional gifts will be accepted at the $50 Patron level or $100 Sponsorship level and may be made directly to the Creative Writing Workshop Projects.  Please make checks payable to the Cleveland Arts Prize and mail to Creative Writing Workshop Projects, P.O. It is the goal of the Cleveland Arts Prize to support and encourage artists, and to promote public awareness of artistic creativity in Northeast Ohio through the work of Arts Prize recipients.

Sleep Deprivation Chamber is an Obie award winning work by the mother and son team of Adrienne and Adam Kennedy. Based on an actual experience, Sleep Deprivation Chamber depicts the emotional devastation of police brutality and the criminal justice system on a highly educated, middle class black family. Each Cleveland Public Theatre performance will be followed by moderated panel discussions featuring distinguished scholars and professionals. CPT is partnering with the Cleveland State University Black Studies Department and the Cleveland NAACP to coordinate and plan these important post-show discussions.
